Simone Strydom

Chief Executive Officer, Director and Secretary

Backed by a strong academic record specialising in seagrass ecology, climate change impacts and marine ecosystem restoration, Simone leads research that delivers real impact for ocean stewardship and marine conservation.

Simone holds a Bachelor of Environmental Science (first class Honours) and completed her Doctor of Philosophy at Edith Cowan University (2017).

Julian Holliday

Director

Julian has a thirty year career in business and currently owns Aqua Tech Services which is a training organisation teaching scientific and commercial divers emergency response techniques. His passion for the marine environment started when he learned to scuba dive in 1982.

Julian holds a Bachelor of Laws from University College London (1990), qualified as a Solicitor in England and Wales (1994) and is a Justice of the Peace in WA.

Nicole Said

Co-founder of the Blue Meadow Foundation and Seagrass Heatwave Collective

Nicole is a leading seagrass ecologist dedicated to advancing science that underpins effective management of seagrass meadows and is driven by a commitment to safeguard resilient meadows in a changing climate.

Nicole holds a Bachelor of Marine and Freshwater Biology, Masters of Biological Science, and submitted her Doctor of Philosophy thesis in July 2026.

David Moustaka

Director

David, now retired, was a Certified Practising Accountant, Certified Financial Planner and Chartered Company Secretary. With over 40 years of experience he has been a director and adviser to numerous businesses and community organisations in Western Australia.

David holds a Bachelor of Economics and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia. He also has a Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment.

Australian Charities and not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) has registered BLUE MEADOW FOUNDATION LTD as a charity with Deductible Gift Recipient status.
